Is your practice spending too much time on manual reporting? Discover how Orange County Heart Institute transformed its workflow, saving hours each month and improving patient care with Veradigm® Registries.
Orange County Heart Institute has served Southern California patients since 1994. With 13 cardiologists and a nurse practitioner, the practice offers specialized services like nuclear medicine, Coumadin management, and vein ablation. As the team grew, so did the challenge of keeping up with clinical reporting and quality tracking.
Manual reporting for MIPS was a major pain point. “Before Veradigm, everything was manual. It was stressful and inefficient,” said Ivon Perez, Practice Manager. Staff spent up to 24 hours each month pulling reports. Running quarterly data and extracting useful information from the EHR was slow and frustrating.
Seven years ago, the practice adopted the Veradigm® Cardiology Registry. The difference was immediate. The registry’s data tracker helped the team spot care gaps, monitor performance, and fix issues without the usual hassle.
The results speak for themselves:
“It’s a time saver, a safety net, and a security blanket,” Ivon said. “We know someone is monitoring this for us, and that’s a huge help.”
The registry also helps the team stay on top of patient care. If a Coumadin patient has abnormal labs, they’re flagged for follow-up. Staff can reach out quickly and get them back in for testing or treatment, closing gaps that might’ve gone unnoticed.
After seeing the benefits of the Cardiology Registry, the team added the Veradigm® Metabolic Registry to support diabetes and cardiometabolic care. These tools now play a key role in daily workflows by helping staff audit performance, follow up on flagged patients, and stay organized throughout the reporting cycle.
Orange County Heart Institute didn’t just cut down on reporting time; they changed how their team works. With Veradigm Registries, they’ve reduced errors, stayed on track with MIPS, and freed up staff to focus on patient care.
