Featured Client Story
State of Franklin Healthcare Associates (SOFHA) is a large multi-specialty group serving communities across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. After more than 20 years on the same practice management system, SOFHA faced familiar challenges that many growing organizations encounter: time-consuming manual tasks, limited reporting visibility, and increasing pressure to maintain efficiency without expanding staff.
When SOFHA transitioned to Veradigm Practice Management, the team recognized an opportunity to improve key revenue cycle operations. To support the shift, the organization teamed upwith Veradigm Revenue Cycle Services (RCS) for help with payment posting, initial claims processing, and denial-related workflows. What began as a hesitant step toward outside support quickly evolved into a productive, collaborative relationship.
RCS shared daily responsibilities with SOFHA’s internal staff, creating a consistent and dependable workflow during a challenging transition. Weekly calls helped the teams stay aligned, address questions, and resolve issues before they created delays. This level of ongoing coordination gave SOFHA added confidence in its direction moving forward.
One of the most meaningful improvements came from the collections module within Veradigm Practice Management. Previously, collections required staff to prepare and mail letters by hand, which slowed progress and took considerable time. The automated workflow removed this bottleneck and freed staff to focus on higher value tasks. Additional gains followed as copay posting became immediate at the front desk and automation tools reduced repetitive back-end work.
RCxRules also played an important role in SOFHA’s success. By refining charges at the start of the process, SOFHA reduced rework and achieved a clean claim rate of more than 99%. Regular meetings between SOFHA, RCS, and RCxRules teams helped identify coding and denial trends that could be addressed with new rules.
SOFHA also benefited from stronger reporting visibility with Revenue Cycle Analytics, its reporting tool within the Veradigm ecosystem. Leaders can now track patterns in denials, diagnosis codes, and workflow delays with far greater clarity. Current performance compares favorably to common medical group benchmarks for days in A/R, aged A/R, and clean claim rate.
For SOFHA, the results are clear. The practice operates with greater efficiency, stronger claim accuracy, and improved collections workflows. Jana Fullbright believes the collaboration with Veradigm RCS will continue to support the organization as it grows and refines its revenue cycle processes.
