Featured Client Story
Women First of Louisville has served patients since 1988, offering comprehensive OB/GYN care through an all-female team of 23 providers. With 10 physicians and 13 mid-level clinicians, the practice is dedicated to delivering exceptional women’s health services. But as patient volumes and visit complexity grew, so did the challenge of documentation.
For Dr. Ann Grider, MD, FACOG, documentation wasn’t just a task; it was a daily drain. Complex GYN visits required detailed histories, constant note-taking, and hours of after-hours charting. “I was slow when it came to charting,” she admitted. “I like to talk to patients and keep the conversation flowing, but that meant finishing charts late at night.”
The burden was clear: documentation was impacting efficiency, patient interaction, and work-life balance.
Dr. Grider explored options like scribe services, but having another person in the room wasn’t practical. She needed a solution that fit seamlessly into her workflow without adding complexity. When she learned about Veradigm Ambient Scribe, she was intrigued.
“I was motivated to try something better,” she said. “I knew a true scribe person in the room was helpful, but I wanted to see if there was a way to make this easier.”
Women First implemented Veradigm Ambient Scribe in July 2025. The onboarding process was simple, supported by Veradigm through weekly calls and hands-on guidance. Compared to the practice’s initial EMR transition in 2006, this was a breeze.
Dr. Grider began using Ambient Scribe for nearly all GYN problem visits and select annual exams. The tool quickly proved its value, especially for complex cases where patients shared long, detailed histories.
“I don’t have to worry about getting the story straight on complicated histories,” she explained. “Ambient Scribe takes all of our talking and puts it into an organized, concise paragraph.”
The results speak for themselves:
Instead of scribbling notes during visits, Dr. Grider can focus on her patients. “I’ve always said I’m not going to have my nose in a computer while I’m with a patient,” she said. “Now I don’t have to.”
Veradigm Ambient Scribe is more than a time-saver. It transforms the way providers deliver care. Reducing administrative burden allows clinicians to stay fully engaged with patients, capture accurate documentation, and close encounters quickly. For Women First, the impact is clear: less time spent typing, more meaningful conversations, and a better balance between work and life.
