Are you ready to uncover a new, comprehensive overview of the prevalence and control measures for select metabolic conditions? Turn your attention to the Veradigm Insights Report: Prevalence & Control of Selected Metabolic Conditions 2021-2023 for a detailed demonstration of how you can utilize these data to better understand metabolic health.
In the past several decades, the prevalence of both obesity and diabetes has increased significantly—as have the healthcare costs associated with treating these conditions. Monitoring the prevalence of these disorders, and monitoring how well they are being controlled, is an essential element of effective patient management. However, using publicly available data for this task has numerous known drawbacks.
In our report, we demonstrate the use of real-world, de-identified data for 38 million adult patients (age 18+) from the Veradigm Network EHR (VNEHR) Database to monitor the prevalence and control of these metabolic conditions. This report offers valuable insights into:
These data demonstrate how the Veradigm Network population is representative of the overall U.S. population for both obesity and diabetes.
The Veradigm report utilizes patient data from one of the most extensive EHR products designed for research purposes.
The VNEHR data harnesses the power of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to incorporate both structured and unstructured clinical notes, from both EHR and claims data, to provide a more accurate overview of the patient’s journey. The VNEHR data are unique in the use of NLP to extract clinical insights from free text found in patients’ EHR records.
This report demonstrates how the Veradigm Network patient population, found in the VNEHR data, is representative of the U.S. population overall for obesity and diabetes. The report also demonstrates the successful use of VNEHR data for assessing the prevalence and control of these two metabolic disorders.
