In today’s healthcare landscape, an important element of adding value for healthcare stakeholders is delivering relevant, educational, and entertaining information in formats that they want to engage with. Podcasts have emerged as one of the most preferred channels to meet the demand for expert insights. More than a trend, podcasts have evolved to be a vital tool for sharing information in the healthcare industry.
Veradigm is leading the charge in delivering podcasts that add value across the range of healthcare stakeholders, from providers, to payers, to life science, and beyond. Through healthcare podcasts, Veradigm is embracing a fresh format that educates and brings actionable insights directly to its audience, making it easy for listeners to stay informed.
Recently, Veradigm has expanded its partnership with The Ortho Show, a popular podcast series hosted by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Scott Sigman.
Launched in 2020, The Ortho Show has become a go-to source for the latest in orthopedic news. Fueled by a passion to be informative, entertaining, and provide thought-provoking content, the podcast has grown to reach more than 8,000 listeners monthly, with more than 200 episodes and 150,000 downloads. Episodes feature in-depth interviews with top healthcare providers, athletes, and innovators, who all share a commitment to innovation and advancing orthopedics.
The growth of the show aligns with Veradigm’s mission of Transforming Healthcare, Insightfully. The Ortho Show’s forward-thinking approach also mirrors the goal of the Veradigm Network—a collaborative community encompassing Veradigm’s internal solutions and external collaborators working together to provide advanced insights, technology, and data-driven solutions.
Recent highlights from the podcast include an episode highlighting feature on how AI technology improves patient outcomes, as well as a visit with U.S. Olympic legend Mike Eruzione, captain of the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” hockey team. Listeners can expect more exciting topics in upcoming episodes, such as advancements in orthopedic surgery or musculoskeletal (MSK) care.
Dr. Sigman is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in opioid-sparing surgery, with over 25 years of clinical experience as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder procedures. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles. His work in opioid-sparing techniques have earned him the honor of becoming a Fellow of the Worlds Society on Sports and Exercise Medicine, as well as more recently, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In addition to serving as the team physician at UMASS Lowell, Dr. Sigman is the Chief Medical Officer for OrthoLazer Orthopedic Laser Centers. Widely respected in professional education and medical device development, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and his TEDx talk on the evolution of the opioid crisis has been widely acclaimed within the industry.
“I am excited to join the Veradigm Network, and partner with Veradigm to take The Ortho Show to the next level for our audience,” said Dr. Sigman. “Transforming healthcare for the better is a passion that both Veradigm and I share, as are the commitment to innovative thinking and approaches to healthcare. I look forward to working together to expand the reach and scope of The Ortho Show.”
