Blog  |  14 September 2020

On Wednesday, September 16 at 1:00 ET, Veradigm will join with Datavant, a leader in helping healthcare organizations safely connect their data to improve medical research and patient care, to discuss the use of fit-for-purpose electronic health record (EHR) data to understand health outcomes. Stella Chang, Vice-President of Life Science Solutions, and Mac Bonafede, Vice-President of Research Consulting at Veradigm, will lead the session together with Su Huang, Head of Data Strategy at Datavant.

The event will provide an overview of the type of data is available from EHR and the unique utility that the right EHR data can deliver, and highlight these insights through real examples of how this data is being used. Veradigm EHR data, in some cases linked to claims data, has already been used to publish new peer-reviewed studies related to Migraine, Type 2 diabetes, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), and other major healthcare challenges.

In addition, the session will touch on how EHR data is being used in the fight to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Veradigm and Datavant are both Veradigm is contributing to the COVID-19 Research Database, a pro-bono effort contributing data for non-profit, non-commercial research. The database includes de-identified and limited datasets from medical and pharmacy claims data, electronic health record data, mortality data, and consumer data. Veradigm data is already in use in several studies related to COVID-19 etiology, treatments and impact on other chronic conditions.
